Sleepover at Maritime Museum Melaka Malaysia Incentive Tour

Having a sleep over at the Maritime Museum Melaka is a treat of a lifetime! It’s fun, a little scary but mostly inspiring. Sleeping over gives me an opportunity to see and feel the museum from a different perspective. I am sure no animals and exhibits on display will come to life and cause a wreak havoc as in the adventure-comedy 2006 movie “Night at the Museum” – I think! I hope! I am 100% sure!!!

Tips for the Sleepover
Ø  Pack light with your best pajamas, sweater, toiletries, torchlight and camera.
Ø  Dress comfortably and wear sneakers for the Night River Cruise and Heritage Walk conducted by a registered tour guide.
Ø  Do not bring any food in the Museum as you will be having your supper outside the Museum.
Ø  Before lights out, you will be assigned a sleeping area complete with a mattress, pillow and blanket.
Ø  Ensure you know the location of the toilet – just in case!
Ø  Don’t worry security guards are posted at every gallery entrance.
Ø  Don’t expect too much shut eye for reasons known and unknown – it‘s too cold! I am too scared! My BFF snore too loud! I miss my mom! Who dare to go to the toilet with me at 3.00am! I hope Hang Tuah and Alfonso De Albuquerque and their “merry men” don’t come alive at 4.00am! I pray that this Flora de La Mar doesn’t sail away in the Melaka River at 5.00am! A bit of footnote – The Maritime Museum itself is a replica of the ‘Flora de La Mar’, a Portuguese ship that sank off the coast of Melaka while on its ways to Portugal, carrying loot plundered from Melaka.
Ø  At 7.00am, lights on. Quickly dress and pack up your things before leaving your sleeping area. Don’t leave anything behind as the Museum operates normal in the day time!
Ø  Check that your name is correct on the Sleepover Certificate as living proof that you survive the “Night at Maritime Museum Melaka”

Like any typical travel agent, the usual final note is the above itinerary is subject to change. My final personal note is the above experience differs from one person to another.

As quoted by TTGMice Dec 2009 – Jan 2010 issue by S Puvaneswary  …”Leisure & Incentive Tours Director of Sales & Marketing, Wan Munirah Dato Wan Puteh, agreed and said the programme had a lot of potential. Many corporate companies are looking for out-of the box ideas. It is good to market this as an option for groups planning their conferences in Malacca, together with a themed dinner at the museum and a teambuilding exercise such as a treasure hunt. The local corporate market would be game to spend a night at the museum and treat it as an adventure – it is all about how you highlight the idea.”….
If you want me to organize this Sleepover as part of your Incentive program, please email me your details to the company email leisureincentivetours@gmail.com

Enjoy the pictures!!
