Pulau Payar Marine Park is accessible from Kuala Kedah (15 nautical miles east), Langkawi (19 nautical miles north) and Penang (32 nautical miles south) in the northern part of Straits of Malacca as part of Day trip. The best times to visit the park are from October to March although it can be visited throughout the year. Except for staff of the Fisheries Department, no one else lives on the island of Payar. There is no accommodation for visitors on the islands. The Pulau Payar has basic facilities such as jetty, toilet, shower, picnic area and plank walkway along the beach.

All activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, coral viewing to sunbathing and fish watching are done with comfort from Langkawi Coral, Malaysia’s 1st & Only Reef Platform. Floating like a tiny island in the sea, the reef platform has been designed to have as minimal impact on the local corals and fishes population as possible so as to preserve the natural beauty of the marine park. Just off the beach at Pulau Payar jetty, you can indulge in the thrilling experience of feeding the baby sharks.
